Career Preparation

Getting ready for work starts in the first year. Students are trained in communication and aptitude, learn from industry programmes on campus, complete internships, and practise the interviews and group discussions they will face.

Year by year

Four years, one direction

Preparation is spread across the programme, so that the final year is for sharpening rather than starting.

  1. First year

    Find your bearings

    • A career development orientation in the first-year bridge course
    • Skill development programmes for first-year students

The 2024 bridge course ran for five days, from 26 September to 3 October, with CDIR’s career development orientation among its sessions.

  2. Second and third years

    Build the skills

    • Communication, presentation and soft-skill training
    • Aptitude and reasoning practice
    • Add-on courses and value-added programmes
    • Internships and industrial visits

Departments add training of their own — soft skills with Campus Connection and Skills & Brains, and FACE Prep’s Konfident programme, for ECE’s third years.

  3. Final year

    Get placement-ready

    • Aptitude, reasoning and soft-skill training
    • Technical and company-specific training
    • Mock interviews, group discussions and pre-placement talks
    • Campus drives

The 2021–25 batch’s final-year aptitude, reasoning and soft-skill training ran for eight days, from 28 January to 5 February 2025.

The training

What students are trained in

The Placement Cell’s programmes run through the year, beside what each department arranges for its own students.

  • Infosys Campus Connect Learning Centre
  • Cisco Training Centre
  • Campus Classle Learning Centre
  • Taiwan Education Centre Mandarin, with a dedicated trainer

Internships

Work before the first job

2017–18 The year internships became mandatory for every student

An internship has been part of every student’s programme since 2017–18, to build the skills employers look for and make students industry-ready.

Alongside AICTE, the institution registered with Internshala, where students apply for internships free of charge.

MBA summer internship

Six to eight weeks in a company after the second semester, guided by an industry mentor and a faculty mentor — and a strong internship can end in a pre-placement offer.

Other paths

Beyond the campus drive

Not every career begins at a campus drive, and the preparation does not assume it will.

  • Government service

Support for students preparing for State and Central Government recruitment.

  • Higher studies

Guidance for competitive examinations, and postgraduate programmes at PMC Tech and beyond.

  • A language for work

Mandarin at the Taiwan Education Centre, taught by a dedicated trainer.

  • A venture of your own

The AICTE IDEA Lab and the institution’s innovation and start-up policy, for students who would rather build.
