Vision

Our vision

PMC Tech strives to achieve excellence in technical education through innovative teaching, learning and applied multidisciplinary research, with professional and ethical practices.

The aims of the institution

Since its inception, the college has been dedicated to promoting quality education: to being a centre of learning that excels academically, imparts knowledge to its students, encourages staff and students to take up research and development, and promotes ethical values in the service of society.

  1. To foster the all-round development of each student’s personality through value-based quality education and training.
  2. To nurture a healthy personality and sound character in our students, and to build their professional competence.
  3. To use state-of-the-art equipment, qualified and trained faculty, and the campus’s facilities for the development of our students, in ways that respond to the needs of the community.

Mission

Our mission

PMC Tech will endeavour

  1. To become a state-of-the-art teaching and learning centre for engineering and technology, research and management studies.
  2. To have world-class infrastructure for quality education and research, towards creativity, self-discipline and ethical values.
  3. To associate with industry, R&D and business organisations, and to stay connected with society.
  4. To create knowledge-based professionals who enrich their quality of life by empowering themselves and their families.

Quality policy

PMC Tech is committed to creating quality professionals who meet emerging industrial and social needs, through

  • Innovative teaching
  • Institution–industry interaction
  • Placing faith in human values
  • Meeting regulatory requirements, and aiming at continual improvement in all activities

Core values

Five values, one word: STEER

The values PMC Tech asks of its students, its staff and itself.

  1. Strength
  2. Truth
  3. Endurance
  4. Ethics
  5. Reverence for all

In practice

Six commitments

What the values ask of the institution itself.

  • Technology-based education

Alongside classroom teaching, PMC Tech introduces state-of-the-art educational technology every year, making teaching, learning, assessment and evaluation more effective and preparing students for the future.

  • Industry interaction

Close ties with industry, built on domain expertise and shared best practice — in curriculum design, in the training of faculty and students, and in consultancy, joint publications and industry-based research projects.

  • An eco-friendly campus

A green campus and green-building infrastructure, with measures for energy and water efficiency that work towards a resource-efficient future.

  • Community development

Training in employability skills, and support for entrepreneurship, for under-privileged and socially disadvantaged communities — offered with their participation and in collaboration with government and corporate partners.

  • A global vision

The aim of becoming an institute of high repute in science, applied science, engineering, technology and management, offering programmes of a global standard that foster research and prepare students to compete globally.

  • Social responsibility

Students take part in social activities that make them aware of important social issues, and of their causes and possible solutions.

Principles

The principles we hold to

  1. Honesty and integrity

“Truth is eternal.” PMC Tech upholds the highest standards of trust and honesty, and deals fairly, honestly and objectively with students, faculty, staff and stakeholders alike, so that academic performance is evaluated reliably and rewarded fairly.

  2. Freedom of thought and expression

Free thought and expression are essential to each person’s development. Everyone is valued and judged by their commitment and their work, never by their gender, race, religion, physical ability, sexuality or financial circumstances.

  3. Excellence

PMC Tech seeks ever higher standards in its staffing, facilities, programmes and services, through continuous improvement, collaboration between departments, and encouragement of creativity, innovation and risk-taking among students and faculty.

  4. Accountability and transparency

Every member of the institution takes responsibility for their own personal and professional growth. Policies are regularly reviewed and improved, goals are clearly defined and communicated, and there is transparency at every level.

  5. Encouragement

Every student is encouraged in critical and quantitative thinking, effective communication, ethical decision-making and social responsibility, in an environment that motivates students and staff alike.
